Flame Tamer

I am looking to get the flame tamer from smokelikeaboss. Im not not sure which one to get and which one works best. I know they have the original, 3 window, and 4 window. I have a Pit Boss 1000d3. Any help would be appreciated.

They sent me a generic message back basically showing the difference of all three but did not recommend which one so it really didn't help out much.

I made a flame tamer from scrap SS sheet for my Lexington. It sits 2" over the fire pot, and the diffuser plate fits perfectly above it. Full disclosure: I'm not convinced it does much, but I still use it.

Not sure what your grill looks like ( pit boss site search no matches ) ? I own a PB1100PS2 ( combo unit ) and I purchased the "new four window shorty" from them and it works fine. See if your model takes the same unit as my 1100

I built a diffuser out of an old table saw circular blade. Two short legs hold one side up and a third longer leg reaches down to the floor of the cook chamber and holds it in a horizontal position centered above the fire pot.
