Firebricks to even out temperatures?

Has anyone used firebricks to even out temperatures between the left, middle and right sides of your pellet smoker?

I have done that in my 820 and also in my Oklahoma Joe stick burner. Works great

I put six in close to the fire

HaHA... this is funny - because I also use firebricks, I also put in six, I also put them in my Oklahoma Joe stick burner, and I also put them close to the fire. And it was my idea! I didn't read it somewhere.

Interesting topic how are the bricks compared to a fire box cover? I have a steel cover that seems pretty good not perfect but dam close for temps both sides

Here is the steel plate works pretty good not perfect but one side is only 1-3° different.
