PB PRO Series 4 v2. In the middle of the smoke session it powered itself down. Hair drier confirms power source is active. Control panel is blank. Why are the smoke gods testing me? All I want is for well smoked tasty meat with a rich umami flavor completed with complimentary herbs and spices. I guess I shall bedenied.

Probably controller but willing to accept any other observations, complaint or otherwise sharing similar behaviors and actions taken to rectify the situation.

Smoke on my friends. Smoke on!

Check your connections but it sounds like the controller 🇨🇱🇺🇸

The electronic gods are testing my patience. I tried troubleshooting for a few days with zero success. Tonight I removed the cover on the grill and discovered the power light was on. Powered it up and miracles of miracles, my smoker is now fully functional. I guess he was having a holiday panic attack 😆

Just an FYI, I recently acquired a Ninja wood fire table top grill. For $240 this little wonder produces smoked and grilled meet that will make you wonder why you ever had to use a smoke tube for rich Smokey goodness. I recently retired and have no one to share my cooks with. I originally got the ninja with the purpose of using it mostly for reverse searing. It does this extremely well and the machine clean up is easy. However, why fire up the big boy smoker when all your going to do is cook a ribeye or NY steak?

Still confused why the pittboss died for a week but glad I don’t have to replace parts, for now.

Happy New Year’s everyone. Smoke on!

Wow; it frustrates me when I don't understand what went awry because it could happen again and I still won't be able to fix it right away.

Absolutely no need to fire up the smoker for a steak. I have a DIY baby-Weber for small cooks. It's all that's needed.

Ya know, I love the whole experience of using my smoker. I make sure the burn pot is clean, the pellet chamber is stocked, and the water pan is filled with hot water to help the temperature to stabilize before the cook. It is something I enjoy. Once the meat is properly seasoned I begin the smoking process. Doesn’t matter whether it’s a whole turkey, a pork butt or a burger. I love the process. I might even enjoy a glass of wine or a beer while the process unfolds. The new Ninja just added an extra dimension to my experience but will not replace all the tools in my toolbox.
