Burned off paint

Ok so I did a cleaning of my pitboss and the burn off afterward got a little too hot and started burning off what looks to be layers of paint on the lid. Should I be concerned about this?

Use a wire brush to get it all off and spray it with olive oil or rub it down with some canola oil

Like cowboy said,scrape it off real good so it doesnt fall into your food and keep an eye on it after every cook. Youll be fine....

Looks like creosote peeling up to me. Heat it up and scrub it with a steel wire brush. Then spray it with some oil.
