The other day I was using my Austin XL then all of sudden it was losing temperature. I tried using it two days later after I cleaned it out with the shop vac now all you here is the fan and nothing moving in the Auger. I have tried to talk to someone at customer service and no call back no nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions. I haven't even had it a year.

I have a 700fb and have just found my auger blocked solid with sawdust. I had no idea that sawdust could get that hard i had to remove the pellet box to get to the auger then took a hammer and screwdriver and finally removed enough sawdust the auger would turn. I have used it often for over two years this is my first problem,

How much is often? From all the people I have talked to you in the pellet grill world this particular forum has issues with saw dust...it blows me away.

I would vacuum everything out and leave the hopper empty. Make sure the shop vac you vacuum out the auger tube as much as possible. start the grill up and set the temp to 450 that will keep the auger spinning. Then hold the prime button and look into the hopper at the auger. If it is clogged it will make a noise it is a 2 rpm auger it will not be quiet. Just keep pressing the prime button and let go and if it is not doing anything then your auger is bad.

Hey Dave When i say often at least 3 times a week. I've cleaned the ashes from the firebox every week but it didn't dawn on me of the amount of sawdust i was gathering from the pellets. I took everything apart and cleaned but when i hooked it all back up all i get is a C on my controller. I took it back apart and can't find any problem with anything so i probably need to change my board.

check to make sure all your wires are connected firmly. I used my PB 1100 at least 4 - 5 days out of the week and never cleaned out the hopper except for changing pellets and still left the pellets in the auger tube. I have not had one jam or hopper fire or any issue with saw dust ever I do not get it. I guess people are buying crappy pellets or they buying bags of pellets that been stomped on or leaving the grill out in the rain. ;)

I try to buy pit boss when they are available i live about 35 miles from a big box so when i go i try to stock up. Being honest i've always had some saw dust usually at the end of the bag and common sense should have told me not to pour it in the hopper but i'm 75 and ain't got much common sense left. However i hadn't had any problem until now. It's my fault not the grill.

Another common problem is the sheer pins break off that connect the motor to the auger. That has happened with mine twice now.

When dealing with customer service the best thing to do is leave a call back number. If your auger isn't jammed then more than likely the sheer pin broke or fell out.

Dave this C is all i get. I have contacted PB and waiting on an answer.
