I have a PB 820D. It was working ok until Thanksgiving day, 2021. Long story short; the auger starts to run as soon as it is plugged in and won't stop running. Just to be clear, it runs before I turn the switch on (switch in the off position). Does anyone have any idea what is going on?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like a bad ground somewhere - which would result in an immediate call to customer service to see what they recommend.

Did you contact customer support? Board is suppling power when it shouldn't, could be a stuck relay of sorts on the board which equals a bad circuit board. It's under warranty.

Amazes me how some people submit posts looking for anykind of help. We offer up help, ideas, etc, and then they never come back with a follow-up.

I apologize, I had some health issues and couldn't get back to this until today. I did get in touch with customer support and found out it is the controller. My unit only had a one year warranty so I have to purchase a new control board. $110 including shipping. I'm considering going aftermarket for half the price. Any thoughts?

Find somebody with a RecTeq and get their serial number so you can buy it. Then turn your 820 into a hotrod 850. Might cost a few more bucks though..

Couldn't find much about the RecTec Controller so I bit the bullet and spent the $110 on the factory replacement. Next time the controller fries the 820 will be on the scrap heap and the RecTeq will be in contention.

Recteq does not offer their controllers for sale. You need a serial number to be able to buy one
