Based on the negative reviews in Google Play Store for the replacement app, I have held off uninstalling my current Smoke-IT app. I keep getting notifications in the Smoke-IT app to upgrade, BUT, I don't see any compelling reason to do so. It appears there have been 10,000+ downloads and only 250 posted reviews, but the vast majority of those are 1 star rated. So, should I consider updating the app or not?

Mine seems to be fussy about not having both bluetooth and wifi up, but I can live with that.

A goofy thing is that my "pit boss grills" app told me that I needed to upgrade to "pit boss grills". A quirk, surely, not a huge deal but a little odd.

I preferred the smoke it app. It's a shame pit boss rendered that one useless with the upgrade. I'd go back if I could.

I would make sure your by your smoker and have good wifi, not a dead spot. What smoker do you have? Mine is an 850
I have a Louisiana Black Label 1000 that I cannot connect. Also have a Navigator 500 that does not have wifi.
I have not been able to connect with bluetooth either.

Since it was an app built by someone else, I'm sure that's part of the deal. Sooner they can get us off the Smoke It app, the less PB probably has to pay them for people using it.

I never had any issues with it sense downloading it about 3 months ago and use it once a week. Works great for me.
Same here. I actually like it better than the Smoke iT app. Plus, and it could be my imagination, but I think my temperatures stays more consistent at lower temps since the app made me do the update.
