I just got an 1100 pro series ..... do I need to wrap the flame broiler main plate with aluminum foil?

It depends. I have a 700S from Bass Pro Shops, and I am putting foil on the top side of my two plates.

This fellow here
seems to have covered the top side of his drip tray.

I have seen some who do not. The main purpose as I have seen it is to make it easier to clean up grease that drips off of your food.

Hi - I’m new to forum & pellet grills. Just got a PB 820 Pro from Lowe’s last week & learning how to use. 3 cooks so far & all turned out great. I’m looking for tips on how to clean or make cleaning easy. Thanks in advance!?

I have aluminum foil on the top side of both of my deflector plates, and lining the grease drip tray (underneath, in a pull out drawer, on a 700S). After 5 cooks, I have decided that changing the aluminum foil after every cook is too much, I'm only going to do it moving forward when "it needs it". In the drip drawer, I have it lined, but then I put a smaller piece of foil right where it drips in, so I can easily swap out that 5"x5" piece more often.

As far as non-foil wrapping, I purchased two items and two 5 gallon buckets from Home Depot.

1. Bucket Head vacuum. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Bucket-...ible-with-5-Gal-Homer-Bucket-BH0100/202017218

2. Dustopper to capture the dust and not get it into the bucket head. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Dustopp...ERCH=REC-_-pipsem-_-202017218-_-302643445-_-N

Each of these sit in the bottom of one of these Gladiator cabinets with rolling wheels and a wooden top. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Gladiator-...-Steel-Freestanding-Garage-Cabinet/1000253905

It isn't a perfect system. The Dustopper is a 2.5" system, and the Bucket Head is a 1.25" system. So I need to work out a permanent mating system, instead of plugging gaps with shop rags. My hope is that I will be able to leave them in the cabinet while I do the vacuuming. I think a smarter vacuum purchase would have been something like this : https://www.homedepot.com/p/Stinger...ERCH=REC-_-pipsem-_-202017218-_-308699706-_-N because it would have been smaller than the second 5 gallon bucket.

I have two spray bottles with simple green concentrate in them, one at 5:1 and one at 3:1. They cut the grease really well, but not as well as the dawn spray bottle https://www.homedepot.com/p/Dawn-Pl...1-Starter-Kit-1-Refill-003700031836/311720780 I never found a refill at my Home Depot, so I moved on to Simple Green.

Have fun, and let us know how your cooks go!

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking a smaller vacuum would be something to pick up - I have a 16 gal shopvac, but it’s too big to be lugging back and forth every time I clean the grill.

Have you used the vacuum during a cook?

That's exactly what I was thinking. I carried the big shop vac to the back porch for the first few cooks, then decided I had had enough of that.

During? No, I have not. Do you mean to clean the ash out of the burn pot? I haven't done anything that is long like that yet. I think what I'll do when that time comes is to scoop out the burn pot with a spoon, and leave the hot ash / pellets in the bottom of the barrel, to be cleaned out after the cook is over.
