Sometimes it might be the thing its self, but more often than not its the experiences that the thing provides, and in the case of cookers, its almost always about making people happy with food. We get attached to the hippieness :)

Chx thighs are some of our favorites here. Simple, cheap, and amazing after some smoke. Chx leg quarters are a good alternative and often cheaper and get so so juicy.

Weekend cook ahead of weekend, how to reheat a butt?

I picked "1 -Leave it in the frig intact and wrapped until Sunday morning and reheat it in the oven, then pull it in time for lunch." Cooked it for about 14 hours from thursday into friday, then it went into the frig til sunday morning. my wrapping phase was to place it in a foil pan and cover...

PittBoss PBV4PS2 - Back burn from auger to hopper.

If the ash can is full the pellets that are burning sit on top and could catch the tube on fire i guess.\ on that note, I wish there was a safe way to empty it while the grill was still running.

Weekend cook ahead of weekend, how to reheat a butt?

Hey all. My wife and I were having our parents over for our 1 year anniversary on the 24th, and the plan was to have pulled pork. I planned on doing a low and slow over night cook Saturday night into Sunday, and pull it for lunch. The issue is that its supposed to rain and or storm now, so I am...

I'm glad to report yet another weekend cook without pictures. Yesterday I used my new chicken drumstick rack from Amazon and did 12 drumsticks. Char Hickory in the hopper and mesquite blend in the smoke tube. Rubbed with some generic Kroger/PickNSave Memphis seasoning. The best part is, I don't...

Smoked Salt, anyone make their own?

A while back before I got my vertical smoker, I bought some smoked salt from somewhere. Not it seems hard to find. I was just thinking I smoked beef tallow, which adds a good smoke hint to anything you cook with it, so why couldn't we smoke our own salt the same way? Has anyone tried it...

    2 damaged Brunswick’s from Walmart

Take note of the examples there too. I actually had damage on the first one but l noticed it while still in the parking lot. The loading crew was nice enough to replace it with an undamaged one.

These look wonderful! I did a cuck roast that simply wouldn't come to temp. I finally pulled it at internal 200 after 8 or 9 hours. (it was wrapped for several of those hours so didn't dry out). sadly it wasn't as tender as I think it should have been. Certainly not shreddable. Flavor was...
